Calvin and Hobbes

One of my favorite cartoons.  I think I love this comic strip because it addresses the world from a kids point of view with an adult twist.  Sunday's funnies nailed a problem I always have with trying to make things black and white.  http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2011/02/06/
KavinCoach told me many times that I needed a dimmer switch so I could see the shades of gray.  Much of life is lived out in the gray areas.

Grey can be incredibly beautiful.

Funny though, my Nparents have always lived in black and white. As a kid if I made a mistake I was a COMPLETE failure/liar/disappointment. As I got older, if my opinion differed from theirs it was because I HATED them. Within minutes of meeting someone they place them in the black or white box and then NEVER change their opinion of that person.

Grey is definitely a more realistic and gentle colour.

Laurel & I have something in common...grey not gray! :)

Coming from a Black and white world to one with shades of gray and color is an amazing experience. I still struggle from time to time choosing differently than how I was taught as a child.

The spelling of Gray/Grey actually has its own web page:

It's Tolkien's fault! Last chapter of Lord of the Rings is "The Grey Havens." :-)
