Thanks mulderfan for suggesting another image of mosaics. I wanted to do some research on Italian mosaic but ended up watching one of my grandsons instead. I had a great evening. I will work on the research and post tomorrow.

When you're researching, don't forget to check out Gaudi's work in Spain.
It's funny, the mosaic front step I referred you to on my Facebook page is considered just one more example of how "crazy" I am by my NPs. They totally don't "get" that I love to build and create things. In other words, they don't "get" ME!
My NF used to complain that I don't paint with oils anymore. I guess that was considered an acceptable form of creativity!
BTW Grandsons are probably way more fun than research!
Thanks mulderfan I will add it to my list. I noticed too that certain things were acceptable and others were not by my parents. I didn't realize until I was older how totally snobbish they were. I think mosaics are amazing and I am having a great time looking up information. Grandson was darling and goes to bed early but I forgot to ask for the wifi password. My daughter asked, "Why didn't you call us?" I just didn't think of it. :)
