Metaphors

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/22/science-snowflakes-shapes-chemistry_n_2338737.html

I learned from my computer tech years that sometimes a direct technical answer makes no sense to someone else.  I learned to look for metaphors.  I explained memory in a computer is like a kitchen.  RAM is the counter top.  Hard drive space is the cabinets.  And if you put all your stuff out on the counter you have no room to work.  I found these examples worked for people that hear Blah-blah-blah when a tech opens their mouth.  I was searching for a metaphor of a person struggling through trials and how it makes them different.  I finally found what I was searching for.  The link above is to a video that shows how snowflakes are formed.  A snowflake starts with a particle of dust that molecules of water cling to.  As the snowflake gets heaver it starts to fall.  Passing through different layers of colder and warmer air creates the intricate design that becomes unique to each snowflake.  The trials and challenges I pass through each leave their mark.  Even if my experiences are the same how I react and respond may be different.  I am learning to appreciate my own design.
