ALTHOUGH THINGS ARE NOT PERFECT - Written by Cindy Blackmore, November 1994

A
lthough things are not perfect
 Because of trial or pain
 Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame ...
 E
ven when the times are hard
 F
ierce winds are bound to blow
   God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
  Imagine life without His love
  Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
  Love imparts to thee
  Move out of "Camp Complaining"
  No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
  Praise can do alone
  Quit looking at the future
  Redeem the time at hand
  Start every day with worship
  To "thank" is a command
  Until we see Him coming
  Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
  Xalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

Great Vacation

I just got back from a great vacation.  A safe drive to see lovely family and new a member of our family, one month old grandson.  I was up with nightmares while I was there so did the 3-5 AM shift with sweet, squirmy bundle.  My nightmares seemed so small compared to the amazing bundle in my arms.

Acceptance

Innerkiddies continues to be a daily inspirational quote that I keep reading.  Sometimes I delete but other times something comes in my email that is so profound that I think and ponder about it for a long time.  This is one of them:
Until you make peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have.
Doris Mortman
Someone asked me recently how I integrated.  I realized that the first thing I did was make peace with who I was as a multiple.  I became really good friends with all the parts of me.  When I integrated, it was like all my best friends were with me forever.  Making peace with who I am right now brings a contentment I used to dream of.

I wonder if they have a survival schools for children of narcissistic or abusive parents?  Can you imagine Gaslighting 101: How to survive being lied to?  Or how about Extending punishments: Guidelines to getting your abuser to give you the silent treatment?  The possibilities seem fairly endless.

You don't know?

I get frustrated when I learn some new thing about life that most people learned as a child.  When I was venting my frustration, KavinCoach simply said, "You don't know what you don't know."  I had to puzzle over this for several weeks.  (I am a little slow sometimes.)  I finally understood that I didn't know enough to ask the right questions.  I reflected back to when I was first learning to trouble shoot and repair computers.  I took one class on servers where most of the information seemed like a crash course on an alien world.  The teacher asked the question at the end what we got out of the class.  I simply replied, "I can read my computer magazines."  First starting out I was so lacking in knowledge that I couldn't even ask a dumb question.  I had nothing to draw on.  I was so clueless on interpersonal relationships, I couldn't ask the right questions.  When I read self help books, the authors were talking over my head.  I wasn't stupid, I just didn't know.  "You don't know what you don't know!"
