I experienced this feeling at Death Valley, California
I kept imagine the miners and pioneers that traveled west and stumbled into this forbidding land of sand and salt. Several times I felt a shudder try to grasp the immenseness of this wasteland. The very air you breath feels filled with salt and dust. I so appreciate DH taking me.
