Random Acts of Kindness

What is the difference between random acts of kindness and people pleasing?
To me the difference is motivation.  Random acts of kindness leave me feeling pleased with myself, happy and excited to do it.  People pleasing is when I feel resentment, anger or fear that if I don't do this I will be rejected or harmed.  I love Random acts of kindness.  This link was sent to me, hope you enjoy it.

Please commit random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty.

An example of a senseless act of beauty, in the place I used to work they had a paper picnic tablecloth on the break room table for a year.  Without telling anyone I replaced it with a new tablecloth that could be washed.  The room went from being avoided to being used by more staff.  For me it was fun.

More than one organization exists based on this idea.

Try an internet search, it is amazing what people are doing with this idea.

Random acts of kindness are often anonymous and we receive no thanks. One year on Valentine's Day I snuck a little gift into a friend's country mailbox. I felt like a kid playing a game and to this day she's never figured out who gave it to her.

People pleasing was really all about me trying to feel wanted by someone. I was left feeling used and resentful. Of course, we seldom receive any thanks for people pleasing either!

My life today is way more fun and I feel much better about myself.

Love this post. It was an act of kindness!
